Awards, Recognitions & Designations

Granville Health System has built its success on consistently delivering quality health care to our community and has been the proud recipient of several awards, recognitions and designations from several of the nation’s leading health care ratings organizations, including:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Center of Excellence
Blue Distinction® is a program that recognizes facilities that meet objective, evidence-based thresholds for clinical quality. GHS was given this designation because it has demonstrated a commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients who undergo knee and hip replacement procedures.
  • Hospital of Choice
The American Alliance of Healthcare Providers (AAHP) named Granville Health System as one of the top 10 hospitals in the country for its unparalleled commitment to good citizenship and community service.
  • Surgical Care Performance
This award is tied to the Surgical Care Improvement Project, which is a national quality partnership of organizations committed to improving the safety of surgical care through the reduction of postoperative complications.
  • Community Value Index Five-Star Hospital
The Community Value Index (CVI) ranking measures the financial value hospitals bring to their service areas and places Granville Health System within the top 20% of hospitals in the United States in providing financial value to the communities they serve. CVI contains three core areas of evaluation: financial viability and plant reinvestment, cost structure, and charge structure. Measurement in these areas suggests that hospitals operating with a high degree of community value are those that have low costs, low charges, and use financial resources efficiently for reinvesting back into the provision of health care at the facility.
  • NCHA Trustee of the Year
GHS Board President Mr. L. C. Adcock has led Granville Health System through many changes, positioning the health system as a community health partner and medical service provider of choice for the region. Under Mr. Adcock’s leadership, Granville Health System has grown instead of consolidated, improved quality instead of just maintaining services, and moved forward as a leader in the region.
  • Nationally Recognized for Excellence in Quality and Patient Safety
  • Granville Health System (GHS) announced the hospital has been awarded an “A” rating in quality and patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit organization committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health care system.

These recognitions represent Granville Health System’s extraordinary commitment to high-quality care standards and quality improvement, as well as a strong dedication and commitment to excellence in caring for our patients and their families. It is an honor to receive the awards, but the real winners are our patients.

These awards validate that our patients are receiving the most effective medical care as outlined by national best practice standards. This great care is provided by our medical team and staff working together on a daily basis to achieve the very best possible clinical outcomes for our patients.

We feel privileged to receive these awards from such respected associations in the healthcare field. They represent yet another way that patients and families can be assured they are receiving the best care possible at Granville Health System.
