Dr. Michael E. Wegener, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Wegener is a Board Certified Surgeon who graduated from Rutgers Medical School and completed his residency in General Surgery at Western Reserve Care System in Ohio. He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy, Surgical Endoscopy, and Surgical Ultrasound in Indianapolis.
Dr. Wegener has written numerous articles and book chapters on the subjects of laparoscopy and ultrasound. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He is a Major in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps and has served overseas in support of the Bosnian effort. Dr. Wegener has served on local and national committees.
Dr. Wegener has an interest in gastrointestinal endoscopy, surgery of the breast and thyroid, cancer surgery and minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal problems, such as GERD and colon problems.
Dr. Wegener and his wife have three children.
