Named for
Granville County’s first hospital, Brantwood Nursing Center is an
important component of Granville Health System
and its’ programs. Brantwood is accredited by
the Joint Commission of Accreditation of
Hospital Associations and licensed by the
Division of Facility Services of North Carolina
to serve eighty residents.

Brantwood
offers both private and semi-private
accommodations, a private, landscaped courtyard
and several day rooms and parlors ideal for
visiting, playing games or private family
gatherings. The building design offers various
settings for resident and family enjoyment.
Nutritional services are provided by a
Registered Dietician and include well-planned,
nutritious meals and a variety of choices for
snacks in-between meals. A multitude of group
and individual activities are always available
at Brantwood Nursing Center. These activities
include music, religious services, games,
auctions, gardening, afternoon tea and many
other special events. Young and old alike are
involved in activities with our residents.
Beauty
shop services are also available.
Brantwood has a professional, experienced staff
to care for residents. Registered nurses,
Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing
Assistants ensure excellent care in a healthy,
supportive environment.
Whenever residents require
additional care, Granville Medical Center is
close by to meet the need. With a full range of
acute care services, Granville Medical Center is
prepared to care for Brantwood Nursing Center
residents with more serious
medical problems.

acute care to skilled nursing services allowing
individuals to stay in Granville County under
the care of their personal physician.

Brantwood's Activity Programs exceed State and
Federal Standards. The Activity Staff prides
itself in providing physical, mental and social
programming, that correspond with past interest
of residents and in developing new programs to
help stimulate all residents no matter their
physical or mental status. Some of the programs
offered at Brantwood include: music, bingo,
religious services, gardening, outings-including
monthly shopping, parties, movies, mental and
physical games. The programs are offered in a
variety of settings including dining room,
activity rooms, and outside under our beautiful
covered
shelter complete with ceiling fans and picnic
tables.
Volunteers at
Brantwood are a wonderful help, and the program
could not be run without them. Weekday
volunteers provide juice distribution through
the Juice Cart, help with crafts, games and
parties and distribute friendly hellos to all
residents. Evening and weekend volunteers play
bingo and do musical and religious programs.
Many of our volunteers donate items such as
gardening supplies, bingo prizes, party foods
and special items requested or needed by
residents.
Brantwood has
a Student Volunteer Program during the summer.
Students must be at least 15 years old and may
work 3 hours daily 5 days a week.

The Brantwood
Newsletter is published monthly and sent to
volunteers, family and friends of residents. If
